I was playing with a piece of simple machinery. It’s a snap press. You use it to install grommets and snaps on clothing.
People will sometimes ask why a professional photographer is needed, when an iPhone or equivalent is right there… I’ll show you one reason why, right after the jump.
In the series below, I started with my camera’s on-camera flash. I then opened the studio space to a wider light source, and then I started to set up a different way of lighting the subject, this time from the sides. Not everyone will take the time, or effort, to make their subject look good; professional photographers do.
